FAQ

Questions, answered.

The short version: it's free, private, and lives in your browser. Here are the details.

Is it free?

Yes — AllMarks is free, with no account and no sign-up.

Where is my data stored?

Your board is stored only in your browser, on your device — not on a server. The one exception is when you share: a copy of the chosen cards' URL info (title, preview image, and the like) is held for about 30 days, then auto-deleted. Since there's no account, no personal information is ever included. If you don't share, nothing leaves your device.

How do I save things?

Three ways: paste a URL onto the board, use the bookmarklet in any browser, or use the Chrome extension. The bookmarklet and the extension save in one click.

Which browsers work?

Any modern browser works for the board and the bookmarklet. The one-click extension is Chrome-based for now.

Can I use it on my phone?

We're still optimizing the mobile layout. Saving itself — pasting a URL onto the board, or using the bookmarklet — works, but the look will be polished a bit later.

How does sharing work?

When you share, you can turn a copy of the chosen cards into a short link with a preview image for social — or export a PNG to post on X. Whoever opens the link just sees that copy; they can't reach your device or your board. No account on either side.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Because everything lives in your browser, clearing its data also clears your boards. Export a backup first if you want to keep them, and import it later to restore.

Is it open source?

Yes. The code is open, so anyone can confirm that nothing is sent anywhere it shouldn't be.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no account creation or login at all.

See it for yourself.
